Monday-John 1:1-5

Have you ever paused to consider the impact of these verses? Five short verses, packed with awesome truth!

First, Jesus was a part of the beginning; he was there as the earth was formed, the garden planted, and as the animals came to life. He was there as God breathed life into Adam and created Eve. And he was there that day in the garden…. John also tells us that Jesus was there because he was with God and was God.

We know the Light shines in the darkness and that it was shining that day in the garden when the first choice was made against God; a choice that would one day make it necessary for the Word to be made flesh and dwell among us.

And one day he will come again.

Jesus came as life to give light to all people, so as this advent season begins and the candles are lit, consider the Light which would not—and will not—be overcome! How will you be a carrier of light as you look to the prophecies of old and the promises ahead?
